Eind vorige maand kwam er nog een artikel langs op FilmTotaal over Red One, de nieuwe kerstfilm met Dwayne Johnson. Deze peperdure blockbuster dreigt namelijk gigantisch te gaan floppen, maar kunnen de eerste recensies daar iets aan veranderen?Red One bereikt op 15 november de Amerikaanse bioscopen. De verwachting is dat de blockbuster een opening zal kennen tussen de 22 en 36 miljoen dollar. Niet verkeerd zou je zeggen, maar gezien het peperdure prijskaartje van 253 miljoen dollar is dit verre van voldoende.Eerste reactiesMocht je nog niet weten waar de film over gaat: de Kerstman (de met een Oscar bekroonde J.K. Simmons) wordt ontvoerd. Het is aan de commandant van de E.L.F. Task Force (Johnson) om de Kerstman te bevrijden met 's werelds beste premiejager (Chris Evans) om zo Kerstmis te redden. Nu zijn wel de eerste recensies opgedoken van Red One. Hoewel niet alle reacties positief zijn, is het gelukkig niet zo dramatisch als eerdere berichten suggereerden.Beter dan gedacht?Bekijk hieronder een handjevol reacties, waaruit wel blijkt dat de meeste kijkers er wel van kunnen genieten. Admittedly, Red One was enjoyable at times, but those moments were few and thin. This movie is powered by a weak script and lacks the Christmas magic.
